Ironwood Country Club, Palm Desert CA, is one of the area’s premier private country club communities. Ironwood is tucked high against the Santa Rosa mountains with incredible views and offers two courses that were redesigned 2002-2004. Originally designed by Desmond Muirhead and Ted Robinson, in consultation with Arnold Palmer, the courses have been enhanced by the strategic redesign of several holes by former PGA player, John Fought, renowned golf course architect.
Ironwood’s challenging South Course (Par 72) enjoys the distinction of serving as the annual host to a U.S. Open qualifying round. Its eight sets of tees play from 4,757 to 7,256 yards, allowing for maximum versatility for golfers at all skill levels. The South Course offers striking and unobstructed views of its natural environment, dramatic water features and picturesque lakes.
The North Course (Par 70) offers both walk-ability and play-ability from 4,455 to 6,065 yards and rewards player accuracy. Don’t be misled by the shorter yardage; the North Course offers some of the most scenic and challenging holes in the desert.
The social centerpiece of Ironwood Country Club is the recently renovated 50,000 sq. ft. Clubhouse.
Ironwood Country Club’s Tennis Club offers a full-service pro-shop and 12 tennis courts and 4 pickleball courts. The Fitness Center is a state-of-the-art, 10,000 square-foot facility promoting health, relaxation and camaraderie.
Home prices range from the $200,000s to over $1 million. HOA dues range $187 to $715/month. Golf memberships are separate and vary in price depending on selection.
Ironwood Country Club, located near the southern portion of Portola Avenue and south of Mesa View Drive, is convenient to El Paseo shopping and dining, The River in Rancho Mirage, Westfield Shopping Mall, The Living Desert, hiking trails, and a variety of both indoor and outdoor entertainment.
