Tamarisk Country Club, Rancho Mirage CA, established in 1952, is one of the area’s most prestigious and oldest golf clubs in the community. The private club had 65 original investors, including Jack Benny, George Burns, Danny Kaye, and the Marx Brothers. Ben Hogan was the club’s first golf professional. The club was host to the Bob Hope Classic 18 times.

The classic traditional-style golf course designed by William Bell, is noted for its tree-lined fairways and impeccably maintained grounds, offering the golfer a much different look than many of the desert courses. While most of the fairways are generous in width, the fairway bunkers shape most of the holes, and are strategically placed off the tee.

The course also features four memorable Par 3’s that demand quality shot making. The Par 3’s are where the course really challenges any level of player; they are lengthy and feature deep, greenside bunkers that will swallow up any errant shots to the green. Something for every player. Challenging for the low handicapper, yet fun and forgiving for the beginner.

The architecture of the homes on the course are classic mid-century modern and separates Tamarisk from many of the newer clubs in the area. Once a ‘Rat Pack’ celebrity hangout, many homes were owned by Hollywood stars from the 1950’s and 60’s and still sit on the course today.
